Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, proactive and results-driven Construction Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination and execution of infrastructure and building projects across Kenya. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and hands-on experience in managing medium to large sized projects in the Kenyan construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and coordination Management
• Lead and manage construction projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, consultants, and local authorities for permits and approvals.
2. Budgeting and Cost Control
• Prepare project budgets and manage costs to ensure profitability.
• Monitor expenditures, conduct cost analysis, and prepare progress reports.
• Track project costs, manage variations, and ensure financial accountability.
• Approve contractor/supplier invoices and manage procurement of materials.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BoQs) in collaboration with quantity surveyors.
3. Site Management
• Oversee site operations to ensure quality, safety, and productivity.
• Supervise site engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and labourers.
• Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with NCA, KeNHA, NEMA, OSHA, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
• Implement and monitor HSE protocols on-site.
4. Quality Compliance
• Ensure that construction activities meet design specifications, quality standards, and client expectations.
• Ensure work is carried out according to specifications, building codes, and safety regulations (NCA, OSHA).
• Implement quality assurance and control procedures.
6. Communication Reporting
• Act as the key liaison between the client, consultants, government agencies, and internal teams.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly project status reports.
• Resolve conflicts and ensure smooth workflow among teams.

Requirements

Education Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is an added advantage.
Experience
• 5+ years of experience managing construction projects in Kenya, particularly in:
- Road works (urban and rural roads, drainage systems)
- Water and sanitation infrastructure
- Commercial/Mixed use/Residential/ Institutional and mixed-use buildings
• Experience working with county governments, national agencies (e.g., KeNHA, KURA, NWSB), and development partners (e.g., World Bank, World Vision, Concern Worldwide etc.) is an added advantage.
